Regarding the International Hypnosis Conference, I am somewhat concerned with the Terms and Conditions.
Clause 3.2 No refund of any part of the booking fee will be made in any circumstances.
– This is rather unfairly restricting considering any kind of unforeseen circumstance could happen at any time.
Clause 4.1 The content of any specific event at the conference is subject to cancellation or amendment at any time without prior notification.
– What compensation is there for the delegate under these circumstances?
Clause 4.3 If the Supplier is obliged to cancel or withdraw the Conference due to circumstances beyond the Supplier’s control, Delegates will be entitled to transfer to an identical conference to commence within 12 months of the cancelled Conference.
– This is somewhat vague. Will the identical conference be held in the UK? What if the dates/location of the identical conference are simply not suitable (for any number of reasons) for the delegate? What if the supplier does not provide an identical conference within 12 months? The body of the emails states this is a “one-off, once-in-a-lifetime, content-packed Hypnosis Event”.
7.1 The Supplier shall not be liable for any delay of failure to perform any obligation contained in or implied by this contract if the same is caused by any circumstances beyond its reasonable control.
– What compensation is there for the delegate under these circumstances?
– There are get out clauses for the supplier in these Terms and Conditions but absolutely no protection for the delegates what so ever. The supplier can cancel at any time but the delegate is not entitled to a refund. The supplier does not accept any responsibility for any circumstances but the delegate has no protection regarding any unforeseen circumstances that affect them beyond their control, or any compensation for cancellation or amendment.
Is this conference legitimate?
