Born on 13th August 1975 into a showbiz family whilst travelling with Gandey’s Circus, Alex made his stage debut aged 3 and a bit as Flap the Clown.
Before he reached his Teenage Years he was firmly established as one of England’s Top Up & Coming Magician’s & Stage Illusionists in his former stage name of Alex-Le-Roy.
He is now better known worldwide as Hypnotherapist Alex William Smith or in his stage name as Jonathan Royle Stage Hypnotist and International Hypnotherapy Trainer & Teacher.
Aged 14 in 1989 he became the youngest ever member of the Association of Professional Hypnotherapists & Psychotherapists (APHP) as founded by Dr. Brian Howard of Warrington, England in the early 1980’s.
Indeed from the age of 14 in 1989, he started treating people with Hypnotherapy and thus to date (22nd June 2022) has been conducting Professional Paid Hypnotherapy sessions for over 33 years with great success.

For a brief time during the very early 90’s he was also known as one of the fastest Rising Spiritual Mediums and was dubbed by “Psychic News” as the New Doris Stokes and Uri Geller Rolled into one.
Within a Couple of years he gave up the “Clairvoyance Style” shows and turned to exposing how the public get conned by people who do such performances so they can protect themselves from being ripped off by charlatans.

Always one to keep studying and developing, more recently in 2017, he obtained another General Hypnotherapy Standards Council (GHSC) & General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR) approved Hypnotherapy Practitioner Diploma (HPD) from Susan Lawrence of Piece of Minds Hypnotherapy.
Since 2017 he has also been a Certified Trainer of NLP from The International Institute of Humanistic Neuro-Linguistic Psychology & Hypnosis.

Just quick note to say thanks for the DVDs – ‘There’s no such thing as hypnosis’. I really enjoyed watching the DVDs. Bought them off ebay from you. In 2009 when American Hypnotist Richard Nongard came to England with John Cerbone to run his first UK Speed Trance event in Manchester, Richard contacted Royle and invited him as a guest to the event so that he could act as their adviser on British Hypnosis Laws relating to Stage & Street Hypnosis something that I was happy to do in order to help keep the industry SAFE.

Never one to miss a Chance for Publicity, in 2021 Royle hit the headlines again when he threw down a Challenge to World Famous Psychic Uri Geller during the Euro Football matches as explained at –
In the mid to late 90’s Royle became an Ordained Revered with the Universal Life Church in America and in 2004 was reissued his Ordination Certificate confirming his legal right to conduct Wedding’s and other Religious Ceremonies in the USA after losing the original when it was destroyed in a flood
In 2017 Royle was Awarded the Status of Archbishop from the Universal Life Church
In 2017 he was Awarded the Qualification of Professor of Hypnotherapy as per this image
And in 2018 he was Knighted by Prince Michael of Sealand and awarded the title of Sir
By way of the Universal Life Church and also other Religious Organisations in the USA who have awarded Royle various Honoris Causa Religious Degrees over the years he can quite Legally, Lawfully, Ethically & Morally use the title of Doctor
I also in the mid to late 90’s was Awarded an Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy Degree which like it or not gives me Legal Right to state that I have a Ph.D. and for the record that was/is an entirely different document than the one shown in the image below.
Indeed as well as the Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) that I obtained from the Universal Life Church in the late 90’s, I also at the very start of the noughties was awarded Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy Degree’s from several other Religious Organisations including The California Church and University Inc as can be seen at the top of the image below, where beneath it is the Batchelor of Science Degree in Marketing that I acquired from what unfortunately turned out to be nothing more than a diploma mill. The bottom line however is that my Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy Degree (PhD) from the Religious Organisations are 100% Legal & Lawful for use just as are all the other numerous Honoris Causa Religious Degrees that I have been awarded over the years. Indeed most recently I have been awarded Honoris Causa Doctor of Philosophy Degree’s (PhD) by The Prixton Church & University in both Transpersonal Psychology and also in Theocentric Psychology as illustrated by the images above and below this text.
Some years ago I also Legally Gained a Lord title and thus can Legally call myself Lord
But heck in 2018 I was awarded the title of JEDI KNIGHT by the Universal Life Church
And In my former stage name of Alex-Le-Roy I joined The British Actors Equity Association back in Circa 1991 and have been a member ever since.

I would be here for ever if I posted details of all the Amazing things I have been fortunate enough to do & achieve over the years which along the way have included being a “Behind the Scenes” adviser and consultant to Many Famous Name Television & Media Hypnotists, Life Coaches, Therapists & Also Magical Mind Readers & Mind Control Experts.
But one particularly memorable and enjoyable for me event was when I was asked to help Promote American Television Hypnotist Tom Silvers UK Hypnotherapy Training Seminar which took place in London during 2004 and at which I was honoured to be invited as a V.I.P. Guest as an additional thank you for my involvement in helping to promote the event.
Article below is from 18 years years ago now when I was working on a PILOT TELEVISION SHOW for The Living TV Satellite channel which was provisionally to be called STEPFORD HUSBANDS and we were searching for suitable contestants to take part.
I Thought it was a great concept of me Hypnotizing the Husband and turning them into the perfect person to the wife’s delight with comical twists to pull the laughs, but as so often happens in the Television world it never ended up getting broadcast on Television.
Same thing happened with another show which was going to be a Hypnotic Style Dating Show called LOVE TRANCE and which I believe my colleague Ken Webster also made a pilot for (I worked on one also for it) in any event neither of us got the job as the show never got commissioned.
In fact I would not be exaggerating to tell you that over the years I have been involved (both in front of the cameras and behind the scenes as an adviser and consultant) on literally 100’s of Television Show Pilots and ACTUAL SHOWS THAT MADE IT TO BROADCAST as well including many fronted by FAMOUS NAMES in their respective countries.

Another “First” so to speak was in 2001 whilst filming his Six Part European Television Series “Life in the Bus Lane” in Amsterdam when Royle played the part of his own Twin Sister “Mesmerelda” (Royle in Drag) “The World’s Leading Female Stage Hypnotist” for this truly Surreal & Bizarre Comedy Show.
For the filming of the “Mesmerleda” parts of the TV Series, Royle performed at the “Queens Head” the venue owned at the time by Legendary Dutch Drag Queen Willem Dusty Gersanowitz de Wit who introduced “Mesmerelda” onto the stage as shown here

However in short, by comparing the above 2 documents with the 2 Grounds of Appeal Documents above them, it will become clear to you that the COA missed the point in many ways, mostly that, although I thought I had engineered & set things up and had the intention of exposing Mazher Mahmood, it turns out that I was ENTRAPPED by Mahmood and his team who were always one step ahead of me and applying pressure and intimidation behind the scenes as and when they felt it was needed.
One of their associates (my publicist at the time) also aided in this behind the scenes manipulation and in truth seeded the idea to try and expose the Fake Sheikh’s techniques into my mind in the first place. When that and the fact I now have seen proof (a receipt of payment to a Private Investigator) of Unlawful Information Gathering is considered it becomes clear that Mahmood not only knew that I knew who he was, but that further he (not me as I naively thought) was ultimately the Architect and Engineer of the whole series of events.
The only reason the Fake Coins were ever delivered to Mahmood by me is that he provided the money to get them in advance, his team member and another associate informed me where to obtain the coins (most likely from someone on their payroll) and they used veiled threats to manipulate me into getting them.
Plus of course as I knew who he was, I knew that the coins would never enter circulation and would instead ultimately have to be handed to the Police and I would fully co-operate with the Police (as I did) in a quest to bring some real criminals to justice at the same time.
This thought occurred into my Alcohol (they plied me with drinks) and Drug affected (they drugged my drinks) head & most certainly along with the behind the scenes veiled threats ultimately pushed me into doing what I never intended and really never wanted to do, namely doing anything that was actually breaking the law, something I could not have done anyway unless they supplied the money upfront (as they did) and they also supplied the information of where to actually obtain the coins (as they did) and who to look for.
I had only ever intended to ring a Local Massage Parlor (as I did) and arrange for some Girls to come and visit Perry Khan (Mahmood) when I was not there (something that was not and is not illegal) which I thought would be enough of a story for him (he had done stories in the past to other people doing same) for an article to appear and for me to then produce my recordings and evidence that would show he had distorted & lied in his story as he often did which would of given me a great story to sell to a rival newspaper. However despite them knowing that I knew who they were this was not enough for them and they persisted to call me day after day asking me to get other things which I each time made excuses as to why I would not be able to supply such to them and I never did.
Then the intimidation & veiled threats behind the scenes escalated and I did finally agree to another meeting, but I did not intend to do anything which could ever be considered Illegal.
However you look at it I WAS ENTRAPPED into doing something I would never normally ever have dreamed of doing and Illegal & Dishonest methods & techniques were used by Mahmood, his team & associates in order to entrap and manipulate me in this manner.
Further I was likely Drugged (I have a witness statement from a Former Mahmood Employee who witnessed such happen in another Fake Sheikh Sting) in the way many other Mahmood Victims have claimed they were including Tulisa Contostavlos and her friends in order to make them more suggestible and compliant.
But it seems that the COA could not get their head around the very real facts that although I have always stated that I engineered the situation (and did indeed believe that 100% until very recently) the shocking real truth is that Mahmood in conjunction with my former Publicist had manipulated me into thinking it would be a good idea to try and expose Mazher Mahmood so that they could then be one step ahead and engineer things to do as much damage to my life and career as they possibly could so that (they hoped) I would never be able to fully expose the extent of their routinely dishonest and illegal actions in the course of manufacturing fabricated stories and situations against innocent victims like myself.
Another BIG QUESTION REMAINS = Why was Mahmood never charged for buying Counterfeit money from me?
After all if (as was accepted in Court & by the Police etc) I was collecting the coins in the course of Journalism to put together a true Public Interest Story for a rival newspaper, and yet I was charged with collecting & delivering them, why exactly was Mahmood not charged by the Police for providing the money to buy them and purchasing them?
Why was Mahmood afforded so called Journalistic License and yet I was not despite the fact the Police and Court/Judge etc at the time all agreed that the evidence showed that I was doing what I did with the intention of getting a story together to sell to a rival newspaper?

THE ACTUAL WRITTEN JUDGEMENT FROM COA WILL BE ADDED TO THIS PAGE WHEN IT IS SENT TO ME IN THE NEXT FEW WEEKS FROM THE COURTS
However in short, by comparing the above 2 documents with the 2 Grounds of Appeal Documents above them, it will become clear to you that the COA missed the point in many ways, mostly that, although I thought I had engineered & set things up and had the intention of exposing Mazher Mahmood, it turns out that I was ENTRAPPED by Mahmood and his team who were always one step ahead of me and applying pressure and intimidation behind the scenes as and when they felt it was needed.
One of their associates (my publicist at the time) also aided in this behind the scenes manipulation and in truth seeded the idea to try and expose the Fake Sheikh’s techniques into my mind in the first place. When that and the fact I now have seen proof (a receipt of payment to a Private Investigator) of Unlawful Information Gathering is considered it becomes clear that Mahmood not only knew that I knew who he was, but that further he (not me as I naively thought) was ultimately the Architect and Engineer of the whole series of events.
The only reason the Fake Coins were ever delivered to Mahmood by me is that he provided the money to get them in advance, his team member and another associate informed me where to obtain the coins (most likely from someone on their payroll) and they used veiled threats to manipulate me into getting them.
Plus of course as I knew who he was, I knew that the coins would never enter circulation and would instead ultimately have to be handed to the Police and I would fully co-operate with the Police (as I did) in a quest to bring some real criminals to justice at the same time.
This thought occurred into my Alcohol (they plied me with drinks) and Drug affected (they drugged my drinks) head & most certainly along with the behind the scenes veiled threats ultimately pushed me into doing what I never intended and really never wanted to do, namely doing anything that was actually breaking the law, something I could not have done anyway unless they supplied the money upfront (as they did) and they also supplied the information of where to actually obtain the coins (as they did) and who to look for.
I had only ever intended to ring a Local Massage Parlor (as I did) and arrange for some Girls to come and visit Perry Khan (Mahmood) when I was not there (something that was not and is not illegal) which I thought would be enough of a story for him (he had done stories in the past to other people doing same) for an article to appear and for me to then produce my recordings and evidence that would show he had distorted & lied in his story as he often did which would of given me a great story to sell to a rival newspaper. However despite them knowing that I knew who they were this was not enough for them and they persisted to call me day after day asking me to get other things which I each time made excuses as to why I would not be able to supply such to them and I never did.
Then the intimidation & veiled threats behind the scenes escalated and I did finally agree to another meeting, but I did not intend to do anything which could ever be considered Illegal.
However you look at it I WAS ENTRAPPED into doing something I would never normally ever have dreamed of doing and Illegal & Dishonest methods & techniques were used by Mahmood, his team & associates in order to entrap and manipulate me in this manner.
Further I was likely Drugged (I have a witness statement from a Former Mahmood Employee who witnessed such happen in another Fake Sheikh Sting) in the way many other Mahmood Victims have claimed they were including Tulisa Contostavlos and her friends in order to make them more suggestible and compliant.
But it seems that the COA could not get their head around the very real facts that although I have always stated that I engineered the situation (and did indeed believe that 100% until very recently) the shocking real truth is that Mahmood in conjunction with my former Publicist had manipulated me into thinking it would be a good idea to try and expose Mazher Mahmood so that they could then be one step ahead and engineer things to do as much damage to my life and career as they possibly could so that (they hoped) I would never be able to fully expose the extent of their routinely dishonest and illegal actions in the course of manufacturing fabricated stories and situations against innocent victims like myself.
Another BIG QUESTION REMAINS = Why was Mahmood never charged for buying Counterfeit money from me?
After all if (as was accepted in Court & by the Police etc) I was collecting the coins in the course of Journalism to put together a true Public Interest Story for a rival newspaper, and yet I was charged with collecting & delivering them, why exactly was Mahmood not charged by the Police for providing the money to buy them and purchasing them?
Why was Mahmood afforded so called Journalistic License and yet I was not despite the fact the Police and Court/Judge etc at the time all agreed that the evidence showed that I was doing what I did with the intention of getting a story together to sell to a rival newspaper?
