However in short, by comparing the above 2 documents with the 2 Grounds of Appeal Documents above them, it will become clear to you that the COA missed the point in many ways, mostly that, although I thought I had engineered & set things up and had the intention of exposing Mazher Mahmood, it turns out that I was ENTRAPPED by Mahmood and his team who were always one step ahead of me and applying pressure and intimidation behind the scenes as and when they felt it was needed.
One of their associates (my publicist at the time) also aided in this behind the scenes manipulation and in truth seeded the idea to try and expose the Fake Sheikh’s techniques into my mind in the first place. When that and the fact I now have seen proof (a receipt of payment to a Private Investigator) of Unlawful Information Gathering is considered it becomes clear that Mahmood not only knew that I knew who he was, but that further he (not me as I naively thought) was ultimately the Architect and Engineer of the whole series of events.
The only reason the Fake Coins were ever delivered to Mahmood by me is that he provided the money to get them in advance, his team member and another associate informed me where to obtain the coins (most likely from someone on their payroll) and they used veiled threats to manipulate me into getting them.
Plus of course as I knew who he was, I knew that the coins would never enter circulation and would instead ultimately have to be handed to the Police and I would fully co-operate with the Police (as I did) in a quest to bring some real criminals to justice at the same time.
This thought occurred into my Alcohol (they plied me with drinks) and Drug affected (they drugged my drinks) head & most certainly along with the behind the scenes veiled threats ultimately pushed me into doing what I never intended and really never wanted to do, namely doing anything that was actually breaking the law, something I could not have done anyway unless they supplied the money upfront (as they did) and they also supplied the information of where to actually obtain the coins (as they did) and who to look for.
I had only ever intended to ring a Local Massage Parlor (as I did) and arrange for some Girls to come and visit Perry Khan (Mahmood) when I was not there (something that was not and is not illegal) which I thought would be enough of a story for him (he had done stories in the past to other people doing same) for an article to appear and for me to then produce my recordings and evidence that would show he had distorted & lied in his story as he often did which would of given me a great story to sell to a rival newspaper. However despite them knowing that I knew who they were this was not enough for them and they persisted to call me day after day asking me to get other things which I each time made excuses as to why I would not be able to supply such to them and I never did.
Then the intimidation & veiled threats behind the scenes escalated and I did finally agree to another meeting, but I did not intend to do anything which could ever be considered Illegal.
However you look at it I WAS ENTRAPPED into doing something I would never normally ever have dreamed of doing and Illegal & Dishonest methods & techniques were used by Mahmood, his team & associates in order to entrap and manipulate me in this manner.
Further I was likely Drugged (I have a witness statement from a Former Mahmood Employee who witnessed such happen in another Fake Sheikh Sting) in the way many other Mahmood Victims have claimed they were including Tulisa Contostavlos and her friends in order to make them more suggestible and compliant.
But it seems that the COA could not get their head around the very real facts that although I have always stated that I engineered the situation (and did indeed believe that 100% until very recently) the shocking real truth is that Mahmood in conjunction with my former Publicist had manipulated me into thinking it would be a good idea to try and expose Mazher Mahmood so that they could then be one step ahead and engineer things to do as much damage to my life and career as they possibly could so that (they hoped) I would never be able to fully expose the extent of their routinely dishonest and illegal actions in the course of manufacturing fabricated stories and situations against innocent victims like myself.
Another BIG QUESTION REMAINS = Why was Mahmood never charged for buying Counterfeit money from me?
After all if (as was accepted in Court & by the Police etc) I was collecting the coins in the course of Journalism to put together a true Public Interest Story for a rival newspaper, and yet I was charged with collecting & delivering them, why exactly was Mahmood not charged by the Police for providing the money to buy them and purchasing them?
Why was Mahmood afforded so called Journalistic License and yet I was not despite the fact the Police and Court/Judge etc at the time all agreed that the evidence showed that I was doing what I did with the intention of getting a story together to sell to a rival newspaper?

A.K.A. “THE FAKE SHEIKH” TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear Sir/Madam
My name is Alex William Smith, although I am also know by my current stage name of Jonathan Royle and my former stage name of Alex-Leroy which I was using in 1998 when the now disgraced and convicted of Conspiracy to Pervert the course of Justice, Journalist Mazher Mahmood ran a fabricated story about me in the News of the World.
This ultimately led to me getting two convictions for delivery of Counterfeit Coins as is fully explained on my blog page located at www.circusofthemind.net
As you will see on that page I am in the process of appealing my Convictions, especially given that New Evidence has now come to light including most notably the fact that it seems that the alleged “Fake” Coins in my case, were never forensically tested by the Royal Mint despite claims to the contrary by the CPS.

Anyway my reason for writing is that on behalf of all victims of Rupert Murdoch’s “Fake Sheikh” Mazher Mahmood I would like some answers.
Answers to things that it was indicated investigations would be started into almost five years ago now, and as yet nothing has been published by anyone in this regards.
Shortly after the Drugs Trial involving British Pop Star Tulisa Contostavlos collapsed after The Sun on Sunday and former News of the World Journalist Mazher Mahmood aka “The Fake Sheikh” was exposed as a Liar, it was publicized that the Crown Prosecution Service would now closely examine whether previous convictions obtained based on Mahmood’s evidence could now still be considered safe.
Suggestions at the time were made that the Attorney General should examine why Mahmood himself had never been charged or previously convicted for buying Drugs, Counterfeit Money, Guns and other items which by purchasing in the manner he did, arguably without a real “public interest” defence that he was indeed himself breaking the law on multiple occasions.
Indeed in that regards I quote three people:
Judge Stuart Fish formally acquitted Mr Giggs, then asked whether
charges of inciting to supply drugs and illegal possession had been
considered against the reporter, Mazher Mahmood. _________________________________________________
“Curiously, he’s (Mazher Mahmood) never been charged with the illegal
purchase of cocaine, although there are no legal grounds on which he can
do this to perpetrate a sting.” – Peter Burden – Author of Fake Sheikhs
& Royal Trappings.

“I am minded to refer the whole of this matter to the Attorney General toconsider the temptations to which money being offered in return for
stories, in particular about celebrities, gives rise to – and the way in which

Further there was also talk that such activities by Mahmood should be looked at during part two of The Leveson Inquiry, which sadly the current Conservative Government have axed, despite Sir Brian Leveson stating that it is needed more than ever and also clearly stating in his letter to the Government from which I quote:
“The Conviction of Mazher Mahmood also raises issues of an entirely different species of unlawful or improper conduct”

However Fast approaching five years since the collapse of that trial in 2014, no results of such an apparent “investigation” have been published or made public and I for one on behalf of all victims of the “Fake Sheikh” would like to know why is that?
Given the extreme weight of evidence and facts that I have managed to collect and publish on my blog page at www.circusofthemind.net it now seems clear that The Crown Prosecution Service knew about Mahmood’s dishonest and arguably illegal activities as far back as 1997 as was revealed in the BBC Panorama Documentary “The Fake Sheikh Exposed” and since then has also been revealed through various online news sources the links to which are on my blog and include this one:
That of course raises the question that the Crown Prosecution Service need to answer of why was their knowledge of Mahmood’s Dishonesty and arguably Illegal Activities not disclosed to me by them when I was charged or at anytime during the legal court process?
The same question applies as far as I am aware to all other victims of the Fake Sheikh, why was such information withheld from us and not disclosed as it should have been to give us all the chance of a fair trial?
I would also love to know why a full Police Inquiry into why Mahmoods evidence was allowed to be used to charge people for so long, despite Police already being aware that he was not to be trusted as a witness of truth has it seems as yet not been undertaken?
After all Mahmood himself has famously bragged that he has bent Police Officers in his Pocket, surely such corruption itself should lead to an investigation into what else may have illegally taken place between Mahmood and the Police?
I would therefore strongly urge all relevant parties, namely the Crown Prosecution Service, The Attorney General, New Scotland Yard & The MET Police and of course all relevant members of Government to please respond to this letter providing full details of what (if any) relevant investigations have indeed taken place and what results were obtained and conclusion made etc, or where such has not taken place please explain why?
In terms of Political Parties I would also urge all opposition parties to reaffirm their commitment to reinstating Part Two of the Leveson Inquiry should they become elected and gain entry to Number Ten.
It is my honest belief that many dozens of people may have been wrongfully jailed over the years due to the lies, deception, illegal activities and behind the scenes manipulation and intimidation of Mazher Mahmood and those in his team, and that such should be fully investigated by all relevant authorities as a matter of urgency.

Yes indeed I am one of the many people who became a victim of the Fake Sheikh Mazher Mahmood & his dishonesty despite the fact that I was back in 1998 trying to expose his unethical, immoral and illegal techniques at the time he managed to massively screw me over as will be explained further down this page.

REVIEW OF ROYLE’S HYPNOSIS TRAINING BY MARTIN BALLAM
I attended a 3 day course run by Alex (AKA Jonathan Royle) in 2015.
I didn’t know what to expect really, but i had heard of Alex’s reputation as the bad boy of hypnosis and his prison sentence, amongst other stories circulating the internet being spread by opposing competitors.
Some probably mean well and believe they really are protecting the public from being manipulated whilst others are just trying to prevent a successful man from advancing in life.
I attended the course for two reasons. One was, at the time i was wrestling with some insecurities that were preventing me from establishing myself in any chosen field and were affecting my relationships with other people around me.
I had a lot of conflict in my life and i was so damned oversensitive. i seemed to be absorbing a lot of negativity to add to what i’d already been carrying around in me and i was getting caught in the vacuum of other peoples dramas too.
Its ironic that you can easily get into a position of having people tell you their problems and then, blame you for knowing and going out of their way to hurt you based upon what you know.
I wanted to offer something to people that didn’t force me to have to listen to all their problems to be able to help them.
I’m not here to save the planet (though if i could, i would) but i do think its a human necessity to offer people tools to help themselves through anxiety, low self esteem and depression when we are needed by people we meet in our day to day lives, who are suffering.
It’s not enough to listen to them whine about life and agreeing to all the wrongs of the world, feeding into gossip and backstabbing etc which is what a lot of people do these days.
Every time you point a finger at someone, there are three fingers pointing back at you (excluding the thumb).
I’d been taking an interest in NLP and Hypnosis and other therapies but this was the first time i’d taken it a step farther to aim for certification and i have to admit, on my first day i was a little nervous.
Other students who attended (around 30 in number) were pleasant and fun to be around. There were all sorts of men and women from all kinds of backgrounds, anything from a TV celebrity to ex policeman and a lawyer, to councilors and hypnotherapists who came to Alex to learn new techniques and then there was me, the cartoonist. I felt out of place and humbled to be amongst such professionals in their fields. There were some budding magicians there as well who enjoyed showing off at lunchtimes and i saw some amazing sleight of hand, but the thing that blew my mind was the amount of content in Alex’s training.
He crammed so much information into each lesson and presented it in ways that you could absorb and digest the information.

He uses every trick in the book to effectively teach as much as he can in the short space of time (over 27+ years of experience crammed into three days) and it was interesting to learn more about the man himself, so in part, the course was autobiographical.
From this information you can get an idea of the ups and downs, the highs and the lows that come through choosing hypnosis as a career (being an entertainer and a stage hypnotist) and not only that, but taking it all a step farther and presenting CMT to the world, for others to learn, practice and apply to helping others free themselves from addictions. It was EPIC in so many ways.

We learned convincers/suggestibility tests, we learned inductions, we learned how to progress a convincer into an induction and we learned deepeners, and we learned Alex’s own scripts and then awakeners.
He showed us what to do, and why it works and he showed us what not to do and why it doesn’t work and from all that, within three days you can pretty much say that everyone in the room was impressed and felt they’d come away having learned something.
The reason i know that is because i’m quite attentive to what people say around me and how they behave, and i could tell everyone was enjoying the experience and then finally, came the moment we were issued our certificates.
I know some people would cast suspicion on anyone who confessed to gaining a certificate after a short time but to be honest, you learn what needs to be learned and after that, its a case of practice practice practice.
Its kinda like going for driving lessons to get your licence and then once you have it, you have to apply what you learned from the instructor and go out there into the world and apply it safely.

CMT is worldwide now, and those people are helping others because they received reliable training from Jonathan Royle.
I felt proud to have DCMT after my name and it feels good to know what i know as a result of the training. i have since explored many other trainers and experienced what they teach, and i can’t say that i have experienced anyone who crams in as much info as Alex achieves.

Infact just this evening, before writing this review, i was watching the videos for his TNSTAH (There’s No Such Thing As Hypnosis) course to refresh my memory and it is excellent.
There’s a lot of controversy surrounding the name of ‘Jonathan Royle’ but i would imagine most of the people spreading rumours and attacking his rep haven’t attended any of his training courses. They may have seen him on stage, hypnotising a woman to believe everyone is naked or a man sucking on a dildo thinking its an ice cream…that can shake people up, but the stage show is designed to stand out from all others in a very competitive arena.
The course is designed to show you how to pursue a career for yourself and thankfully, there wasn’t any dildo sucking or anything controversial.
It was impressive, it was educational, it was practical, it was fun and it was something i myself, will never forget. i’m sure many other students will say and have said the same.
