Therefore YES I am one of the 150 odd new claims that have recently been filed against Rupert Murdoch’s News Group Newspapers for Privacy Intrusion, Unlawful Information Gathering and other Illegal Actions as alluded to in this recent The Guardian article
Some details of the Illegal Actions I believe and understand were undertaken against me are detailed on my blog page where I detail what (in separate legal matters) the Criminal Cases Review Commission (CCRC) are currently considering in terms of all the New Evidence I have that my Criminal Convictions are UNSAFE and should be overturned in the Court of Appeal.

Celebrity Hypnotist Jonathan Royle who has, in the past been featured in the Media alongside The Spice Girls, Robert De Niro, Billy Crystal, Madonna, Princess Diana & many other Famous Names is on a quest to gain justice for all victims of Media Abuse, Lies & Illegal activities.
Today Friday 24th May, Royle (born Alex William Smith & Formerly known as Alex-Leroy) aged 43 of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, England has submitted his Renewed Grounds of Appeal to the Royal Courts of Justice in London in relation to his two “Fake Sheikh” Mazher Mahmood related convictions for alleged delivery of Counterfeit Coins.
These two convictions, which he has been advised are unsafe and of which he has always protested his innocence, resulted following a March 1998 fabricated article in the now shut down and disgraced “News of the World” newspaper.
Following the collapse in July 2014 of the Drugs Trial against British Pop Star Tulisa Contostavlos, Royle along with many other victims of the Fake Sheikh Mazher Mahmood’s dishonesty & illegal activities was sent a disclosure pack by the Crown Prosecution Service.
Early 2015 and his appeal was submitted to the courts but unfortunately was rejected by the Single Judge in May 2016.
His Lawyers at the time then submitted the case to the Criminal Cases Review Commission, an application which the CCRC finally rejected in June 2018.

Since then Royle has been seeking legal advice and also obtaining further evidence including documents that now illustrate that vital evidence in his case was never forensically tested despite claims by the CPS to the contrary.
Indeed he has also obtained documents that illustrate errors and inaccuracies galore in the original proceedings against him, along with strong evidence that the CPS & Police failed to disclose vital evidence to him at the time of his arrest & court proceedings.
All of this is covered in the Renewed Grounds of Appeal sent today by signed for delivery to the Royal Courts of Justice which given the Bank Holiday will arrive with them on Tuesday 28th May 2019 and a copy of which (along with supporting evidence) can be seen on his website at www.circusofthemind.net

It is hoped that he can now get his conviction overturned and that doing such will then help other victims of Rupert Murdoch’s Fake Sheikh to get their cases back to Court and also overturned.
Further, Royle has sent letters to The MET Police, CPS, Attorney General, Minister for DCMS, Shadow Minister for DCMS and other relevant parties as explained in the video accompanying this News Release demanding that an Official Inquiry into the dishonesty, deception and illegal methods used by Mazher Mahmood be conducted as a matter of urgency and also urging that Leveson Inquiry Part Two should be reinstated.

Yes indeed I am one of the many people who became a victim of the Fake Sheikh Mazher Mahmood & his dishonesty despite the fact that I was back in 1998 trying to expose his unethical, immoral and illegal techniques at the time he managed to massively screw me over as will be explained further down this page.

Controversial Stage Svengali & Celebrity Mind Therapy Consultant Jonathan Royle has today spoken of the “Living Nightmare” that he has been subjected to for over 18 years
since the now Convicted Journalist Mazher Mahmood aka “The Fake Sheikh” published
a largely fabricated story about him in the now defunct News of the World newspaper.
Royle, aged 41 of Rochdale, Greater Manchester, who was born Alex William Smith whilst
his parents were travelling on Gandey’s Circus has always maintained his innocence and
complete lack of any Criminal intent during the slightly backfired Publicity Stunt he was involved in back in 1998, during which his sole intention was to expose the often dodgy & dishonest journalistic techniques of The infamous “Fake Sheikh” Mazher Mahmood.

This was accepted and acknowledged in Court as Fact by The Police, Crown Prosecution Service and the Judge in the Manchester Crown Court Case which ultimately led to Royle (aka Alex Smith) entering a late plea of guilty as he was advised at the last moment, that he was not going to be afforded the same “Journalistic License” for his activities in the attempted expose of Mahmoods Techniques as would be afforded to Mahmood himself and thus help protect the “Fake Sheikh” from Prosecution for many years.
As was accepted and acknowledged in Court, Royle always knew who he was dealing with and knew that the Counterfeit Coins that he delivered to Mahmood would never enter
into public circulation, but rather would be handed to the Police by Mahmood and ultimately
Royle would then be able to help the Police investigate those who supplied the Coins.
Unfortunately due to not being afforded the same “Journalistic License” as was given to
Mahmood, despite all parties confirming and stating in court that “this was not a normal case” and that it was “all a publicity stunt” that had got a little out of hand, Royle was
given a Six Month Custodial Prison Sentence.

the jury of 6 men and 6 women unanimously reach a verdict of GUILTY against
Mazher Mahmood and his driver Alan Smith for Conspiracy to Pervert The Course
of Justice, it is now my sincere hope that all of Mahmoods Victims can get their
convictions overturned, get their names cleared and start afresh without being
the target of abuse, harassment or prejudice the likes of which I have had to endure
on regular occasions during the past 18 years”

*It was a PUBLICITY STUNT to gain media recognition which had backfired.
*Anthony Morris defending said “One of the men he dealt with was Smiths former Publicity Agent, they had been concerned together in earlier SCAMS aimed at getting Smith Publicity, and he knew whatever he said or did would get newspaper exposure!”
*He Has done many outlandish things TO GAIN PUBLICITY”
*Smith Knew the Fake Coins WOULD NOT be circulated Publically in what was a ONE OFF offence by a Man of Good character.

*In the actual Court Case, the Judge, Crown Prosecution Service and also the Police ALL CONFIRMED IN COURT that having seen all the evidence that they 100% KNEW that it was all a PUBLICITY STUNT & MEDIA STING engineered BY ME to help gain Publicity for myself and also TO EXPOSE DODGY JOURNALISTS AND JOURNALISM.

*In Court it was proven and accepted beyond any reasonable doubt that the News of the World article was and is complete and utter BS…
*It was mentioned by all (Police, Judge and CPS) that the entire article came about due to me engineering it as a PUBLICITY STUNT and also a way to EXPOSE DODGY JOURNALISTS.
*It was noted that many things that were printed I HAD NOT EVEN EVER SAID OR DONE IN ANY MANNER.

*In court both the Police, Crown Prosecution Service and Probation Service all spoke on my behalf and recommended a NON CUSTODIAL Sentence due to it all being a Publicity Stunt to expose the newspaper.
*When the Judge gave a custodial sentence, everyone agreed I SHOULD BE RELEASED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, hence I only spent 46 days inside.
*The Court records will show that I had character references from The Local Rochdale MP of the time, also the Head of the Local Military Police of the time, hardly what you’d expect if any of the other BS they printed in that NOW SHUT DOWN AND SHAMED Newspaper were in any way true.

The Judge was David Owen.
Prosectutor was Stuart Duke.
Defence Lawyer was Anthony Morris.
