Back in 2013 I was the first Headline Speaker booked by Richard for the first ever Hypnotist Entertainment Cruise and it was a pleasure to also perform alongside him in Florida whilst I was in the USA, the video of that show being further down this page.
Based on this trailer (see video below) this show looks to have great potential and it also looks like Richard took on board everything I spoke about during my lectures on the Hypnotist Entertainment Cruise and also the advice and insights I gave him personally one to one as we talked about how FAKE and set up Hypnosis can and unfortunately often does look on Television and TV Shows and how truly important it is to establish the genuine reality of Hypnosis and what is truly possible with it..
If the full show and series is filmed and edited as well as this trailer, then it should be CREDIBLE and be Great for ALL Hypnotists when seen by the Public at large..

INTRO TO SHOW: In this radical comedic social experiment, world-famous hypnotist Richard Barker re-programs the brains of eager participants through the power of deep hypnosis, to experience a completely ALTERNATE REALITY. He then sends them on a mind-bending adventure that could forever cement their legacies as heroes of the human race… or so they believe.
In each self-contained episode, a new group is sent to live in a far-away land of the past, present, future, or even to a fictional world modeled after mythology or top pop-culture franchises. There, they embark upon a series of challenges building to one climactic mission that they must complete in order to return safely home. Afterwards Hypnotist Richard Barker will reveal to them just how outrageous their adventure and actions under hypnosis really were, and how they’ve even done things completely against their nature that they would never ordinarily be able to do.
INTRO TO HYPNOSIS: Richard gives a full breakdown of hypnosis and how it actually works scientifically, physically, and emotionally. He also walks through his process of taking people in and out of it. As both Host and Hypnotist, Richard can come in and out of episodes whenever needed to reprogram someone and keep spinning the plates, if you will. He can also be organically incorporated into the show, e.g., the voice of Mars Mission Control, a messenger in Colonial Times, etc…
ANNOUNCE ADVENTURE – In this first episode, a group of individuals will be cast for an adventure of a lifetime: The First Manned Mission to Mars. Richard sets up the world that’s been created to the audience – the Palm desert, which will double as Mars for our cast. He explains to the audience that, even though he will tell the cast ahead of time that they will be hypnotized to believe they are traveling to Mars, once they are hypnotized, everything they see from that point on will literally become life on the Red Planet to them. He also sets up the series of missions they will encounter, taking them as far down the rabbit hole as possible, to show the endless possibilities of hypnosis.
THE DEEPER MISSION: While these missions are designed to maximize comedy and send both the participants and viewers on exciting adventures, there’s a deeper layer beneath the surface. The cast is specifically selected because they have specific habits, fears, or traits that they want to break through the power of hypnosis. Through their experience in an ALTERNATE REALITY, the cast members will come face to face with their biggest fears, be forced to break their bad habits, and overcome the mental roadblocks that are keeping them from achieving success in life.
With years of experience and education in the field of hypnotherapy, Richard is able to design each mission specifically around the deeper needs of each cast member and force them to address and overcome their issues… In hilarious ways!
INTRO CAST – We introduce our cast to the audience and Richard. While 80% of the population is susceptible to hypnotism, a much lower percentage are able to enter deep hypnosis. Here’s the good part: those people share many of the same traits that unscripted TV producers look for in finding great reality TV characters. Richard and the producers work together to select the best candidates for each adventure based on their personality types, and how their attitudes, quirks, likes, and dislikes will play out in each mission. This cast is filled with all 11’s, on a susceptibility scale from 1 to 10.
The cast is dressed in space suits and helmets. Then, Richard puts them under hypnosis and explains to them that when they come to, they will be the first candidates on Earth to ever be on a Manned Mission to Mars. One at a time they all fall into deep mental states. They are ready to go!

HYPNOSIS SHOW START ADVENTURE – The cast wakes to find themselves in rocket ready to blast off into a whole new world. At first, we see what they see – they are in a high tech space rocket, with complicated controls everywhere and Mission Control (Richard) speaking to them over the transmission. The rocket takes off and begins experiencing very high G forces in its ride to outer space.
CAST WATCH TAPE – The cast is brought into a room where they are presented with hypnosis show footage of their real journey – not what they saw, but what actually happened. As they watch themselves they tell us exactly what they saw and how they felt in every moment. We get genuine reactions from the cast about how they totally believed they were on Mars and explain how it felt. They also react to things they did that went completely against their natural abilities or courage to do so in reality.
